Ideas

Four things I keep coming back to. They shape the work I choose and how I do it.

Sports is the only true equaliser in this world.

On a pitch or in a stand, nobody asks where you're from or what you earn. Everyone is just a player or a fan. That's a big part of why I've built my career around it.

Fans are the real superstars, and they don't know their true power yet.

Fans fill the stadiums, make the noise and fund the whole thing, and most products still treat them as an audience. At Champhunt we tried making them the main character, with predictions and quizzes during the match, and average session time went from 3 minutes to 8.

See how it worked.

Eyeballs are the only currency in the modern world.

Attention decides what gets funded, built and remembered. It's why I care so much about how it's earned. At Champhunt we got downloads at under Rs 3 each, and that only works when people actually have a reason to look.

A good product will last longer than a good brand, if the founders have resilience.

A brand gets you noticed and a product gets you kept. I've worked on both sides, from agencies that sold the story to a product team where the product did the heavy lifting. Either way, none of it survives founders who give up early.

I also write

Mostly poems. I have two published books of them, one solo collection and one anthology.

Take a look.
